After the successful auction of 3G spectrum in India the telecom operators are looking forward to start the 3G operations as soon as possible.In India Smart phone constitute of 20-30% of the total mobile market but only few of them support 3G. Will any normal Indian in medium income segment go for it?
ReplyDeleteinitially, the prices will remain high(of both, the 3G services as well as the handsets), as the companies would want to recover their cost. but gradually, the prices will come down and the handsets and the 3G services will become affordable for mid income segment.
ReplyDeleteThe price has to come down in a price sensitive market like India.But yes,it will take time as the operators would first be interested in recovering the cost incurred during the auction,by targeting the high revenue customers.
